Behind it: a strong Canadian high, gusty northwest winds this afternoon, and — finally — a break from the humidity. It’s the first genuinely crisp-feeling day in a while, with a breezy edge to it.

• 6–9 AM: Patchy fog lingering west of the Blue Ridge and across the Alleghenies (Garrett/western Allegany); otherwise fog erodes quickly after sunrise. Warm, humid start with dew points still in the mid 60s to low 70s.
