Maryland Forecast for Saturday, July 11, 2026: Warm, Humid & Watching for Afternoon Storms

Saturday looks like another typical midsummer day across Maryland, featuring warm temperatures, plenty of humidity, and another opportunity for scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. While the day won’t be a washout, anyone with outdoor plans should remain weather-aware, as storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and gusty winds.

Straight to the Point

  • 🌤️ Morning: Warm, humid, and mostly dry.
  • 🌦️ Afternoon: Partly sunny with scattered thunderstorms developing.
  • ⛈️ Evening: Storms gradually diminish after sunset, but a few showers may linger.
  • 🌡️ Highs: Generally in the mid to upper 80s, with a few lower 90s possible in southern and eastern Maryland.
  • 💧 Humidity remains high, making it feel several degrees warmer.

Morning Forecast

The morning begins with a mix of clouds and sunshine across the state. Temperatures will start in the upper 60s in Western Maryland and low to mid 70s elsewhere.

Travel conditions should be favorable with dry roads and good visibility for most commuters. A brief shower cannot be ruled out in a few isolated spots, but widespread rain is not expected.

Daytime Forecast

As temperatures climb into the afternoon, the atmosphere will become increasingly unstable.

Western Maryland

Garrett, Allegany, and Washington counties will see highs in the lower to middle 80s with scattered afternoon thunderstorms developing over the higher terrain.

North-Central Maryland

Frederick, Carroll, Baltimore, Harford, and Cecil counties reach the middle to upper 80s. Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds with scattered thunderstorms developing after lunchtime.

Baltimore Metro

Baltimore City and surrounding suburbs warm into the upper 80s with muggy conditions. A few thunderstorms may interrupt outdoor activities during the afternoon.

Central Maryland & DC Suburbs

Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s, and Anne Arundel counties climb into the upper 80s. Storms become more likely during the mid to late afternoon.

Southern Maryland

Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary’s counties could reach the lower 90s. Humidity will make it feel even hotter before scattered thunderstorms develop.

Eastern Shore

Kent, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Talbot, Dorchester, Wicomico, Somerset, and Worcester counties will see highs in the upper 80s to around 90°. Ocean City and Assateague remain cooler in the lower 80s thanks to the Atlantic breeze.

Evening Forecast

Scattered thunderstorms will continue into the early evening before gradually weakening after sunset.

The strongest storms may produce:

  • Heavy rainfall
  • Frequent lightning
  • Wind gusts up to 40–50 mph
  • Brief localized flooding in poor drainage areas

Not every community will receive rain, but anyone with evening plans should keep an eye on the radar.

Chesapeake Bay & Beaches

Boating conditions will generally be manageable during the morning before thunderstorms become possible later in the day. Any storm moving across the Bay could produce dangerous lightning and locally gusty winds.

Beach conditions at Ocean City and Assateague look favorable through much of the day, although visitors should head indoors immediately if thunderstorms approach.

Looking Ahead

The active summertime pattern continues into next week with warm temperatures, high humidity, and additional chances for scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

Bottom Line

Saturday will offer plenty of opportunities to get outside, but it won’t be a completely dry day. Most of Maryland should enjoy several hours of dry weather before scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms develop. If you have outdoor plans, try to complete them earlier in the day and have a way to receive weather alerts if storms approach.
